EXCITING NEWS!!!

ON BEHALF OF MR. SAWATSKY...

Dear Parents,

It is with great excitement that I announce that SJA will have a new home for September. We have been working very hard in securing a new location that will have more classrooms with more windows, more parking, better playground area, better washroom facilities, and room to grow. Also, we wanted the new building to be on a more major road so that we are more visible to the community.

Our new location is only 2 minutes from the current location.

2150 Torquay Mews is the address, and part of the property backs onto Erin Mills Parkway. (It is right next to the Meadowvale 4 rinks)

SJA will hold summer camps at the new location, and

school will start September 9, at the new location. We will hold orientation at the new building so that the parents are able to get a tour of the new facilities before the school year starts.

The move will be very exciting, but it will be a lot of hard work over the summer. If any parents wish to volunteer to help teachers set up classrooms or move boxes, we would be very appreciative. Also, there will be lots of activity at the old SJA building as we get ready to move. We have sold all of our portables, and we need to have them removed from the property by mid June.

We are very excited, and we will keep you, the parents, updated on the move as the summer progresses.

Day 157 - Tuesday, May 26th, 2015 - CASUAL DAY & SUNDAE DAY!!

Hello SK Blog Readers!!

*TRACK & FIELD DAY TOMORROW!! *

Happy 6th Birthday, Joshua!!

- This morning students had the chance to watch other grades practice their Arts Night performances!!

- Students wrote their TERM 3 Student's Comments that will be part of their report cards (going home on the last day of school). They reflected on the end of the year and wrote about what they are looking forward to next year!

- Students also illustrated a picture of themselves in SK (this page will also be attached to the report card).

- Students worked on some ice cream-themed activities in honour of Sundae Fun Day today!! Yummy!

ACTION IS IMPORTANT!!

Action is a significant aspect of the IB learning process. Please become a follower of the SK class blog to post any action your child has completed at home. When his/her name appears on the blog, your child will receive house points. This is to help further their knowledge about what has been learned within the classroom. Students are to use what they have learned and apply it to the “real world.” For example, if we are learning about recycling, students might go home and tell you that they want to implement a recycling program at home, or they may do something simple like telling you that something you were throwing in the garbage may be recycled. Action varies and ranges from something small to something very large; as long as students are understanding the concepts, action is important no matter the size. Thank you for your cooperation :)
