HAPPY THURSDAY!

- The SK students started their morning with calendar time led by our 
Special Helper: Jordan
- In the morning, students completed a fun journal activity where they each had to think of something green and write a few sentences describing it. Later on in the day, everyone read their journal and the others guessed what the thing was. 
- In our Unit of Inquiry on "Family", students completed an "ALL ABOUT MY FAMILY" booklet.
- This afternoon, we had Arts Night practice for every grade! 
ReminderArts Night is Wednesday, June 4th 7pm * 
- Students attended GYM/FRENCH class at their assigned times.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

- The SK students started their morning with calendar time led by our 
Special Helper: Pranav
- Students spent the day reviewing Language & Math concepts from the year. They practiced sequencing, short & long vowels, addition/subtraction, filling in missing numbers, counting by 5's, etc.
- This afternoon, we had Arts Night practice for every grade! 
* Reminder: Arts Night is Wednesday, June 4th @ 7pm
- Students attended GYM/ART/FRENCH class at their assigned times.

HAPPY MONDAY!

- The SK students started their morning with calendar time led by our 
Special HelperCherin
- During Journal time, students wrote about which Track & Field event they enjoyed the most last week and what they are looking forward to this Friday!
- Today for Unit of Inquiry on Family, students reviewed Immediate & Extended family members and then completed a worksheet where they wrote about people in their family. 
- Students had a lesson on May's learner profile: COMMUNICATOR. We read the book "Click Clack Moo" and then students wrote about how they are communicators like the cows in the story. 
- In Math, students will continue working in the world of GEOMETRY along with completing their Term 3 Math Assessments. Here are some of the students working on constructing 2-D shapes  using marshmallows and toothpicks!







- Students attended GYM/ART/FRENCH class at their assigned times.

- Due to Carrassauga this weekend, the SK classes had to join together in one class; students were excited to spend the morning watching Happy Feet and then in the afternoon the school walked to the park to have TRACK & FIELD practice!! 


- In Math, students explored the world of GEOMETRY this week, along with completing their Term 3 Math Assessments. We will continue this next week!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

- The SK students started their morning with calendar time led by our

- Today students practiced singing and actions for the song that they will perform in June for Arts Night - The Lion King's "I Just Can't Wait to be King"
- This morning, students listened to a simple book and wrote/illustrated a re-tell of the story. 
- In the afternoon, we finished all experimentation of the Science Fair Project on "Rainbow Milk". Students also spent time practicing the presentation that will occur tomorrow!

PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO VIEW SCIENCE FAIR PROJECTS BETWEEN 230-3pm (You may bring your child home at this time as well)

HAPPY TUESDAY!

- The SK students started their morning with calendar time led by our 
Special Helper: Braydon
- Today students practiced singing and actions for the song that they will perform in June for Arts Night - The Lion King's "I Just Can't Wait to be King"
- During our Unit of Inquiry today, students reviewed the key points of IMMEDIATE family, and then we learned about EXTENDED families (aunts/uncles/cousins/grandparents). As a follow-up activity, everyone had to write how many of each member of their extended family they have, followed by a drawing.
- In the afternoon, we all worked together on constructing our class's Science Fair Project on "Rainbow Milk"

- The SK students started their morning with calendar time led by our 
Special Helper: Marcus
- Today students practiced singing and actions for the song that they will perform in June for Arts Night - The Lion King's "I Just Can't Wait to be King"

- This afternoon, students were introduced to our Science Fair project (THURSDAY, MAY 22nd); the QUESTION (Which type of milk - skim, 1%, 2% & whole - spreads the food colouring for the longest amount of time?) & HYPOTHESIS have been established.
- TODAY WE TESTED SKIM MILK & 1% MILK. NEXT WEEK WE WILL COMPLETE THE EXPERIMENT BY TIMING THE FOOD COLOURING IN 2% & WHOLE MILK.






- In Math, students were briefly introduced to their GEOMETRY unit by discussing basic 2D shapes and completing some practice worksheets.
- Students attended GYM/ART/FRENCH class at their assigned times.

HAPPY TUESDAY!

- The SK students started their morning with calendar time led by our 
Special Helper: Saanchi
During Journal time today, students wrote about what their favourite candy is and why. They also wrote about what the candy looks like. 
- This morning, students started working on their TERM 3 Math Assessments.
- Today students practiced singing and actions for the song that they will perform in June for Arts Night - The Lion King's "I Just Can't Wait to be King"

- This afternoon, students continued our Science Fair project (THURSDAY, MAY 22nd).
- The QUESTION: (Which type of milk - skim, 1%, 2% & whole - spreads the food colouring for the longest amount of time?) & HYPOTHESIS have been established and today students saw a live demo of what the experiment looks like, using 2% milk. We also talked about why the colours are moving away from the middle of the plate, where the dish soap-covered qtip had been submerged.
- TOMORROW we will be testing the milks to see which one reacts the longest with the dish soap.
