Bonjour,

Students started Tuesday with bell work and morning circle time (special helper/calendar/weather, etc).
For the rest of the morning, students reviewed our central idea for this Unit of Inquiry on "Community Helpers". We discussed what a "community" is and were reminded of different communities that people can be a part of. Students chose a community they are involved in and illustrated it. Next, we read a book on different jobs in the community. The class then brainstormed occupations they know of and what they want to be when they grow up. For the follow-up, each students wrote and illustrated what job they want to have when they grow up and why. We had a lot of fascinating answers and reasons!
In the afternoon, students had storytime. Afterwards, everyone shared the job they chose from the morning and read out-loud what they had written; students worked on being Open-minded during this time as they were non-judgmental and accepting of everyone's job choices. Student also attended French in the morning.
Continuing with our Unit of Inquiry on "Seasons", students finished the week off with a fun Spring activity! Students chose a template of a Spring-related picture (flower or butterfly) and sponge-painted them to cover the picture, creating a beautiful end-result. Great job everyone on this task!
In the afternoon, students had storytime. In Art, students participated in a Winter-themed activity where they had a great time decorating snowflakes/mittens by ripping up construction paper and covering the template.
After second lunch/recess, students had their lesson in PhonicsThis week we will be focusing on "ee" and "or". Students completed a page in their Writing with Phonics book and also continued practicing la/le/li/lo/lu sounds.

At the end of the day, students had Gym.
